These past few months leading up to the opening of VIBEZ Creative Arts Space at the Sherman Phoenix have been exciting! We’d like to thank you all for the support you have shown thus far. We also would like to take a minute to recognize our artists who have extended their talents to help make our events enjoyable.
LaTesha Jackson aka "Jackson" is a graphic designer, visual artist, IT engineer and educator. She has worked with inner city youth and the community for over 16 years. Her range of work spans from various publications to murals throughout the city of Milwaukee. Her art explores the relationship between self love, family and life bringing her motto to life to be bold, learn, inspire and create.
DeYounte Ramsey aka Simply Ramz
His work showcases his journey through life and his attempt to challenge social norms in search of truth. He also aims to celebrate the Divine Femininity and Masculinity in every aspect of the world around us. He draws most of His inspiration from cultural symbols, along with religious and philosophical concepts.
Mekaila is a Milwaukee teenager born and raised. She has always been fascinated by entrepreneurship and things related to art. "I love art and I am very interested in supporting my community. I’ve been drawing and painting for as long I can remember. I’ve always enjoyed creating art and using it to express myself." There is a quote by Victor Pinchuk that says, “Art, freedom, and creativity will change society faster than politics,” and this is something she believes to be true, especially in the world we live in today.
From the age of 5, armed with a handful of colored pencils, Setirah McDade began her journey to become an artist. Setirah finds inspiration in the shape and movement of the human form which has become the main subject of her art. Her preferred medium has evolved from pencil to digital art, however, she continues to experiment with other forms including acrylic on canvas and chalk. She has taken precollege classes at the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design (MIAD) in Graphic Design and Photography.
