From the age of 5, armed with a handful of colored pencils, Setirah McDade began her journey to become an artist. Setirah finds inspiration in the shape and movement of the human form which has become the main subject of her art. Her preferred medium has evolved from pencil to digital art, however, she continues to experiment with other forms including acrylic on canvas and chalk. She has taken precollege classes at the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design (MIAD) in Graphic Design and Photography.
Setirah's accomplishments include receiving the Best Art award from St. Joan Antida High School and placing 2nd at the State Fair Art Showcase in 2018. She graduated from Milwaukee High School of the Arts and will begin college at the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design in the fall. Setirah finds that her passion in the arts comes from the therapeutic value it holds, allowing the world to go quiet for a moment as she explores life from her perspective.
